YO! COUNT IT DOOOOOOOOOOOWN!

One month from this moment Erik and I will be well on our way to Amsterdam.  Actually one month to the minute!  We put together a list today of our things "To Do Before Europe" - and it is not massive or overwhelming.  After all, we have one month to defeat our list.

Item One:  Buy Kate a backpack - well, DONE!  Erik bought me a backpack for my birthday!!  (an early yet timely gift!)  It also happens to be the same backpack I bought for him on his birthday in December.  An Eagle Creek Switchback Max 25.  I bought Erik's from REI.  It was a great experience - I found the most rugged looking man (he had a beard) and asked if he had any opinions on backpacks.  He quickly escorted me to the Eagle Creek.  It happened to be on sale and the perfect backpack/roller combination.  Thank you REI guy!

Item Two:  Buy an elaborate, fancy camera.  Our dear friends, Becky & Stu bought a Cannon right before their son Ethan was born and it takes the most beautiful, precise photos.  It is worth a splurge to capture our trip the best way we know how. 

Item Three:  Buy walking shoes.  Don't get me wrong, we have sneakers.  But I've had some mean blisters from my Nike Frees recently.  We have been told that Keen Newports are the way to go.  We will be looking for those soon.

And the list goes on ... but we have a few weekends to make it happen. 

One month until our "trip of a lifetime" begins ...  amazing.
