Wow, I should turn 30 more often! My lovely sister and Erik, threw me an early SURPRISE 30th birthday party Saturday night. And, no, I had NO idea. There is nothing like walking in to a room full of your family and friends... all there just for you! THANK YOU LOU AND ERIK! It was a great birthday party and an even better way to see everyone before we leave TOMORROW! Yes, tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow ... Erik started the hourly countdown three days ago ... and at my beck and call can share exactly how many hours until departure - 18 hours (I just asked him...)
A huge, sincere THANK YOU to my friends and family for being a part of my 30th birthday. I have always been in favor of celebrating my birth-month rather than a simple birth-day ... so this has extended the celebration.
Here are a few pictures from the party!

And so ... here we are ... about to embark on what has been dubbed a "trip of a lifetime" ... and yes, it shall be. A few last minute touches tomorrow and we're off! Dad will drive us to the airport tomorrow morning.... two short hours to Newark, six short hours to Amsterdam - and let it begin! It has been fun posting from the comfort of Smiley Avenue, but stay tuned for the European goodness!
Cheers,
Kate (and Erik)
